Dr Robbins & Family

Nine years ago, in a small house in the mountains of rural Mexico, I decided I would become a physician. I had considered that decision, but there was always something to change my mind... I didn't want to be in school that long, I wanted to have time for a family (someday), I didn't like chemistry... But 9 years ago, at the moment I made my decision, I knew there would be no turning back. I liked people, I truly wanted to help them and to serve them. The fact was I knew that I wasn't very good at construction projects and building things, and even though I didn't particularly care for studying chemistry, I was pretty good at that.

Since then, I have graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition Science from Kansas State University, graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, married my wonderful and brilliant husband Sam, became a mother to my beautiful (and brilliant, of course!) daughter, Natalie, and finished residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Apparently, I am a Kansas girl who can't seem to leave! Now, as I sit here at my desk at Mid-Kansas Women's Center in Wichita, Kansas, I feel extremely blessed, happy and fulfilled. What a good decision I made nine years ago!

My practice is just beginning to build, but already I have seen women of all ages and in all stages of life. This type of practice suits me well. My passion is truly for women's health; wherever a woman may be in her life's journey. As a physician, I realize, that regardless of her age, each woman is an individual - with individual needs, individual desires, and individual goals. So far I have not seen two patients who are alike... nor do I expect to! Women come to their physician with histories, emotions, personal philosophies, and questions, all of which are too often are overlooked. My goal is to not overlook these things, but rather to incorporate them into a plan that will allow my patients to be as physically, mentally and emotionally healthy as they can be.

At home, I strive to provide the healthiest environment possible for my family, understanding that I simply can't do everything. I hope that Natalie will grow up confident and strong, but will also know that no matter what, she has someone at home who will support, advise, and cheer for her. That, too, is what I hope for the women of Kansas- that they will desire to improve and maintain their own health, with the understanding that no one is perfect. And that they will know that just down the road there is someone who will listen, respect, and care for them.
